MINTRAC is a company set up and managed by the Australian meat industry to represent the industry in matters related to education and training. It undertakes a wide range of projects related to education and training; assists meat processing companies to implement and maintain training programs; and ensures regulation, innovation and research outcomes are incorporated into the training system.
Examples of MINTRAC activities include:
- developing and reviewing the Australian Meat Industry Training Package
- developing training and assessment materials to support the Training Package
- supporting the implementation of structured training in the industry
- representing the industry on training matters at State and Federal levels
- accessing funding for training activities and assisting meat companies to access funding
- providing a wide range of professional development activities for meat industry and training personnel
- developing training in specialist areas to support new regulatory requirements
- managing industry-wide training programs
- facilitating the continuous improvement and high quality of the meat industry training system
- working with Registered Training Organisations to develop and implement training and assessment strategies which address industry requirements
- running industry consultative networks.
