Financial incentives for meat retail apprentices

As there is a skills shortage for the meat retail industry, Meat Retail Apprentices are now eligible for Government financial incentives.

You may be eligible for one or all of the following:

Commonwealth trade learning scholarships - two payments of $500

Tools for your trade - a tool kit up to the value of $800

Support for mid-career apprentices - for up to 10,000 people over the age of 30 commencing an apprenticeship. In the first year of the apprenticeship candidates will receive $150 per week and $100 per week in the second year.

Wage top-up - four payments of $500 for fulltime meat retail apprentices under the age of 30. Payments are issued at the 6, 12, 18 and24 months points of their apprenticeship.

Business skills vouchers - $500 for newly qualified tradespersons undertaking accredited business skills training towards the cost of the training.

When I searched there was nothing listed in the meat industry at all, however as more people get to know about this website, it will probably be a good place to start looking for an apprenticeship or traineeship.
